False memories are created when we are not able to recover the actual memory of a certain event for example, so these false memories will make sense of what has happened if there are gaps so we can understand it.
We all experience this often but rarely notice this occuring as we do not know it is false unless we have proof. This has occured once and backed up with evidence when i thought different had happened at a football match but later watching and realising it was false and slightly incorrect.

You experience false memories when you have an incomplete or distorted memory and the brain fills in the gaps where there is little or no recollection of an event in order to complete the memory. The brain does this because our memories make has who we are, and if we have incomplete memories we would have an almost incomplete personality.
I cannot recall any false memory of my own although I am sure they have happened. The only way i would know would be if i saw hard evidence of the event.

False memories occur more frequently than we would like to imagine. However false memories are chosen, by the brain, as preferable to the feeling of memories filled with lacunae and fallacious when recalled.
I have no recollection at present of any falsified memories which is to say that for me this phenomena is working well.

False Memories happens for the reason that memories are needed for us to build up our own personalities, if we do not have fully formed memory of events then our brain will fill in the gaps for us in order for us to have a fully developed memory recall.

You have false memories, when you have an incomplete memory, the brain fills in the gaps where you have forgotten parts of your memories. The brain does this because our memories make has who we are and if we don't have complete memories we will not have a complete personality.

I believe that when you can't remember any past or distant memories our brain will form or create false memories to fill in the gaps.
