3 Positives of the Multi Store Memory It has made a valuable contribution to memory research It highlights the basic distinction between short term and long term memory It is a highly influential model
3 Negatives It is over simplified: it is too simple and fails to reflect the complexity of the human memory Doesn't take it into account the Evidence to suggest that "simple repetition" (the role of rehersal in transferring information from STM to LTM) is one of the least effective ways of passing information. things we have to remember

3 Positives of the Multi-Store Memory Model Gives an easy understanding of how memory works to those with little knowledge of the subject and can be expanded upon once that basic understanding has been reached and is therefore a good starting point. It shows the distinction between short-term and long-term memory Shows that short-term is the main part of our memory that we use
3 Negatives of the Multi-Store Memory Model Too simplistic Doesn't explain about rehearsal Doesn't explain what it means by attention

Positives of the Multi Store Memory: shows the differences between short and long term memory. helps us to understand how the brain remembers things. shows the difference between short and long term memory.
Negatives of the Multi-Store Memory: doesn't go into much detail. does not explain rehearsal and attention. to simple.

Multi-Store Memory Model
Positives: Many models that are more complex have been based on the Multi-Store Memory Model. The Multi-Store Memory Model gives us an easy basic understanding of how our memory works. The Multi-Store Memory Model allows us too distinguish between the different types of memory.
Negatives: The Multi-Store Memory Model is far too simple to give us a good understanding of the real complexity of our memory. The Multi-Store Memory Model doesn't take into account the context of the information that we remember. The Multi-Store Memory Model doesn't give us much detail about the different types of memory and the sub categorys which they have.

Posittives: Multi-Store model is a simple and basic of how our memory works. Multi-Store model show us the differences between short and long term memory. Multi-Store model shows us that all types of memory runs through the short-term memory.
Negatives: It is to simple need to have more detail. The Multi-Store model does not explain about rehearsal. Multi-Store modal doesn`t go into detail.

multi store memory model
positives: it shows a simple way of how our brain works. it has contributed a lot to memory research. over psychologists have based their more detailed models on the multi store model.
Negatives: it is over simplified with it failing to show the complexity of the brain. Much of the evidence for the multi-store model comes from laboratory studies and artificial sourceswhich doesnt reflect the use of memory in everyday life. the evidence from the model suggests that repitition is the best form of getting infomation from short term memory to long term memory which other researchers have now got proof that this is wrong for example Craik & Lockhart, or Kulik & Brown.

Positives: Shows how short term and long term memory differ, Many other models have been influenced by the Multi-Store Memory Model Shows us how our memory works in a clear and easy to understand way
Negatives: Does not explain in detail about the different types of memory (Short term and Long term) Too simple to give in-depth understanding of how complex our memory is It does not explain rehearsal and attention

positives: 1)It gives a simple diagram and understanding of how the human memory works in every day life. 2)It shows and sets an image of how we transfer information back and forth from the STM and the LTM. 3)it gives a clear indication of how valuable our STM actually is to us as humans because it is how all information is transfered around and used from that store. The information has to pass it at one point .
negatives: 1)The multistore meomory model is to simplistic and does not give enough information about how human memory works. This has been proven by brain damage patients. 2)The model does not explain rehearsal clearly because rehersal is not something that humans would focus on. 3)The model deos not go into much depth about attention from the sensory store to the short term memory store apart from that we lose information within 1/2 a second if not attended but again to simple and not enough detail.

The multi-store model of memory.
Positives: It is a widely accepted modal of how memory works. : Other modals have used it and devloped from it. : It gives a knowlegable understanding of the difference between SM, STM and LTM.
Negatives: It is a basic concept where areas need to be expanded on. : It doesn't take into account personal differences in memory skills or learning methods. : The modal doesn't give much information on the types of memory.

Positives 1) 'The Multi Store Memory Model' has made an important contribution to memory research. 2) It gives an intresting and easy way to understand how memory really works. 3) It shows the clear differences between short term and long term types of memory.
Negatives 1) 'The Multi Store Memory Model' is seen as to simplified and it doesnt reflect the full complexity of the human memory. 2) It shows great emphisias on how much the brain can store but does state how the nature of the information can affect it e.g. some things are easier to remember because they are funny or relevent. 3) The model doesnt explain other factors like rehearsal etc.

Postitives: displays the differences between short term memory and long term memory. shows us how to understand, how the brain remembers things. It has given a good contribution to memory research.
Negatives: It is too simple and doesnt show the full potential of the human brain It doesnt explain things like factors of rehearsal It doesnt look at personal differences and memory methods

Positives of a multi-store memory system: . Shows the differences between long term and short term memory. . Easy to understand. . It has been the basis for other theories.
negatives: . Can only retain information for a short period of time unless attended to. . Considered to be too simplistic. . Doesn't show the true comlexity of the human memory.

Positives of a multi-store memory system: *show how long-term and short-term memory are different. *it has been the influence towards other models. *it has helped with memory research.
Negatives *it is too simplistic to view. *does not show the human memory in enough detail. *it doesn't explain rehearsal.

Positives 1) the model shows a simple, easy to understand, diagram into how the brain works in day to day life. 2) the model has given a contribution to research into memory 3) it shows the importance of the short term memory, as any information we store in our long term memory or say imediately has to pass through it
Negatives 1) the model is too simple 2) it does not go into depth about, attention or reheasal etc. 3) it does not take into consideration different styles in peoples memory methods
